    ongoing

lead software architect · ai integration

    Bergx2 GmbH, München

    b2b software · interne produkte + kundenprojekte · cross-site teams

AI integrated, not staged. AI components ship in production for clients, agents are part of the team's daily coding workflow, and every architecture decision runs through the same filter: will this still hold up in five years, or just generate eighteen months of headlines? Plus the classic architecture work for long-lived B2B software, because that's the difference between a pilot and a platform.

    2017

senior software architect · project lead

    hl-studios GmbH, Erlangen

    industriekommunikation · desktop + mobile · b2b consulting

Software architecture for industrial communication, a field where visual clarity and technical depth count equally. Adobe AIR, Apache Flex, C#, JavaScript as the toolkit. Client contact from briefing to delivery. Six years, multiple industrial clients, projects landed on time and on budget.

    2011

head of software architecture · ideafactory

    BrainStore Ltd, Biel (CH)

    idea-management saas · 10-developer team · international clients

Tech lead on the IdeaFactory platform. Software for structured idea processes inside industrial companies, a niche product with sharp leverage. Frontend (Flex) and backend (PHP) led as one stack, a ten-person team coordinated, international clients supported in the application. Three years in Switzerland, three years where no feature shipped without an architecture decision underneath.

    2007

    software architect + developer

    Magix AG, Berlin

    consumer-app desktop · realtime communication

Built the core architecture of an AS2-based system, plus an in-house component framework as the team's homegrown accelerator. Wired up a PSYC socket server and Java backend for realtime. In 2006, still genuinely pioneering work on that stack.

  5. 2001
    2006

    it security consultant

    Predictive Systems AG, Neu-Isenburg

    enterprise infosec · multi-site europe

Built and ran the full security infrastructure of an international company: firewalls, IDS, secure inter-site networking across multiple countries, Lotus Domino as the foundation. Penetration tests planned and run, before “pen test” was a mainstream term.

  6. 1997
    2001

    military police · zeitsoldat (z4)

    Feldjägerbataillon 251, Mainz

    feldjäger · ordnungs- und sicherheitsdienst

Military police in the German army, four years. Security, discipline, investigations. And the understanding that solid procedures protect people, not just paper. The direct run-up to the jump into infosec that came after.

  7. 1995
    1997

    it consultant

    BlueNet Computer Systeme GmbH, Rödermark

enterprise rollouts · german insurance sector

Rolled out 35,000+ workstations across German insurers: software setup, networks, configuration, at scale. Wrote my own install routines because doing it by hand took too long and went wrong too often. First time at automation at scale, plus the lesson that the only thing that truly scales is repetition without a human in the loop.

  8. 1989
    1995

    first serious code

self-taught · alongside school and apprenticeship

early pc era · hobbyist projects

Started writing serious code at 16. On a PC that today would belong in a museum. Never really stopped.
